Editing and Mixing

The Pro Tools LE 7.1 platform provides 32 tracks of audio, complete with outboard hardware routing capabilities, high quality digital plugin processing, and full mix automation. Being the "industry standard" digital audio workstation, it also helps ensure compatibility should you wish to take your fully or partially mixed project to another Pro Tools HD or LE studio for further refinement.

While digital signal processing via plugins is excellent in almost all cases, many mixes benefit greatly from the use of additional outboard, analog equipment. With this in mind, I provide two excellent analog equalizers- the TC Electronic 2240 and the Manley Labs Massive Passive EQ. Additional effects, such as compression, modulation, reverb, and delay are provided for either digitally or by using further outboard gear by Lexicon, TC Electronic, Summit Audio, and a variety of other various boxes. All digital-analog-digital conversion during the mix process is handled by Apogee and Digidesign converters.

In addition to mixing, Pro Tools also offers excellent editing capabilities. These are utilized in everything from splicing together pieces from several different takes in order to create a complete, cohesive performance, or in creating excerpts from larger projects to be used in demo reels or website clips.

The following clips are from projects that were mixed and edited in-house. Click the info tags to learn more about the specific techniques used in mixing and editing these examples.
