Program Notes:

The title For Dear Life reflects the sort of desperate exasperation that I perceive in this music, in spite of the work's occasional, insidiously calm sections.

As of now, the piece has not been performed, and I have no idea when it ever will be. Perhaps one day. This begs the question, however, of "why write it?" To this I can only say that I really love the orchestra- it is an endless challenge with an infinite variety of colors, textures, and combinations. Something about it really unleashes one's imagination...

Perhaps if it ever gets performed, I'll come up with some better notes for it.
