Program Notes: Tapping Roots is an arrangement of my guitar piece Arabescata for string quartet, and was my first experiment in arranging a guitar piece for several instruments. Consequently, it was also an important step in making the second arrangement of this same work, which is featured as the first movement of the Two Pieces for Chamber Ensemble.
